Finding the perfect shade of foundation or concealer is always a gamble, and it never ceases to amaze us just how many cosmetics brands get away with offering so few choices to consumers. If you don’t fall into the very exclusive range that exists between light-skinned and medium, then most of the time you’re just SOL. It’s one of our least favorite things about makeup—it should be available to everyone, not something that’s feasible only for people of three skin tones.

But all is not lost: We’ve tracked down a handful of makeup purveyors that have some really great variety in their foundation and concealer collections. These trusted brands are accessible and easy to find, with prices that range from under $10 to $48. There’s something for everyone here—for real.

Cover FX
Cover FX offers plenty of choices for all complexions with one of the most impressive ranges we’ve ever seen. The Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation ($40) comes in 40 shades grouped by Neutral, Pink, and Golden tones, so this is one you’ll definitely want to sample in the store, which is the only downside of having so many color options. The brand’s Custom Cover Drops ($44), in 24 shades, enables you to make your own foundation, in a sense: You add the pigment drops to a moisturizer, serum, oil, primer, or tinted moisturizer of your choice for the texture and coverage of your dreams.

bareMinerals
If a sheer, dewy finish is what you’re looking for, the 10 shades of Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream ($29) go on with super-light coverage that makes it easy to find a match among the offerings. Tried and true: Opal is, as promised, suitable for the very, very fair-skinned, while Sienna gives the deepest complexions a gorgeous glow. For a bit more coverage, there’s also bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 ($29), which comes in 20 shades that combine a tone-correcting foundation with a brightening serum for both instant gratification and long-term benefits. Yes, please.

Bobbi Brown
Bobbi is all about making the best of your natural beauty, so it’s no surprise that the 20 shades of Skin Foundation SPF 15 ($48) are among her best—this formula provides truly weightless coverage that blends right in with your complexion for skin that looks perfect, not makeup-y. The Face Touch Up Stick is also available in 20 shades, which is practically unheard-of for a concealer line.

Lancôme
With 35 cool, warm, and neutral shades to choose from and a cult-favorite formula, Teinte Idole Ultra 24H ($46.50) is brilliant for all skin tones, but especially those that can be difficult to match. For a solid (waterproof!) undereye concealer, Effacernes ($31) comes in 16 shades. To be honest, fair-skinned girls have more to choose from (so many pale offerings!), but there’s still a much better variety than most brands.

L’Oréal
Some budget brands tend to skimp on their color range, but the True Match Super Blendable Makeup ($9.99) line spans 24 shades, each one just under a tenner. Not only does it have the best color choices of any other mainstream drugstore brand, but it also has a great formula, with an oil-free, fragrance-free base that’s free of fillers that could potentially lead to clogged pores.
