Ever since Lupita Nyong’o first blessed us with her presence, we’ve been feeling inspired. In a world of starlets who play it nothing but safe with their hair and makeup, Lupita is always taking chances—and making it look incredibly elegant. She’s neon turquoise eyeshadow in a world of subtle brown eyeliner; she’s violet lipstick instead of sheer gloss. And it’s incredible. As she makes the rounds promoting her new role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we are once again treated to her supreme makeup and (dare we say it?) out-of-this-world hair—how could anyone else possibly be our Woman Crush Wednesday?

While Lupita is rightly hailed as one of the best and brightest young actresses on the planet, we say it’s time to get the world hyped on Queen L’s beauty game. Join us as we look back at 21 of Lupita’s most amazing hair and makeup looks of all time.

While Lupita is rightly hailed as one of the best and brightest young actresses on the planet, we say it's time to get the world hyped on Queen L's beauty game. Join us as we look back at 21 of Lupita's most amazing hair and makeup looks of all time.

Red lips, spiky false lashes and bronze eyeshadow: a makeup combination we might never think to wear, but that Lupita showed us looks flawless.

Considering purple lipstick? Take a lesson from L and pair a shimmery violet shade with glowing skin and perfect brows.

Rich, metallic orange eyeshadow is perfectly modern when paired with sheer copper lips.

A lot of people say that you should never match your gown to your makeup. Lupita shows us that this is nonsense; we love her amethyst eyeshadow and purple floral-print gown.

Sleek hair and heavily lined eyes are the perfect complement to coral lips.

This gorgeous braided updo is nothing short of amazing.

On anyone else, a bedazzled headband might look juvenile—on Lupita it looks incredibly chic.

In a world where brown smokey eyes are the red carpet norm, Lupita serves us two toned purple and turquoise eyeshadow and STILL manages to look impossibly elegant.

Pewter eyes, sheer orange lipstick, a MAJOR gown: this is a red carpet moment we'll literally never forget.

Pair a majorly voluminous updo with neon violet lips, and you've got a look perfect for Cannes (or, you know, your next date night).

BEHOLD THE MAJESTY OF THIS WOMAN. You're looking at pink, orange and gold eyeshadow, mandarin-colored lips and fun hair, and she is pulling. It. Off.

Blue eyeliner? No challenge at all for Lupita the Supreme. In fact, why not pair it with totally saturated bright coral lipstick? She can do no wrong.

Cat eye, pastel pink lips and major braided updo? Check.

Bedazzled headband, copper eyeshadow and coral lips at the Oscars—aka, the most conservative red carpet of the year? Check.

Frosty eyeshadow and fuchsia lips work amazingly well with a fauxhawk and demure dress.

And she looks equally as amazing with red lips, a subdued cat eye and her natural curls running free.

GLITTERY. GRAPHIC. EYE MAKEUP. *sounds the alarm*

Lupita looks like a damn goddess with even minimal eye makeup and glossy pink lips.

A sleek braid crown and cranberry lipstick has officially inspired our fall look.

Slightly smoky cat eyes, sheer lip gloss and a Grace Jones-inspired updo is a bit of an edgier look for Lupita, but we love it.

And of course, how could we go past silver liquid eyeliner atop a bold cat eye, bright red lips, coral lips and a coiled updo?

Metallic blue lips and green eyeshadow—and she makes it look so stylish. Lupita, you're our queen. We couldn't possibly love her more.
