Jessica Alba is about to become a makeup mogul.
It seems almost unfair that Gwenyth’s GOOP has been getting so much press, while Honest has swept in and cleaned house in terms of celeb entrepreneurial lifestyle upstarts. The Honest Company, which Alba co-founded four years ago, began as an e-shop specializing in eco-safe, organic and natural baby care products, and is currently valued at one billion dollars. It’s since expanded to non-toxic household cleaning products and nutrition, and according to Jessica’s Instagram account, Honest is about to get into the beauty game. As a celeb who literally has glowing skin, we couldn’t think of anyone we’d like to see launch a beauty line more than Alba.
According to the Honest Beauty Instagram account, which already has 22k followers, it appears that color cosmetics are definitely on deck, but we’re hoping to see some skin care and hair care thrown in, which makes the most sense when we think of all-natural beauty. It’s also nice to see a natural-lifestyle company push things like fun color cosmetics, rather than assuming that everyone who’s into that lifestyle just doesn’t wear makeup. Because we do.
We’ll have to wait until Fall for Honest’s beauty launch, but from this teaser image featuring gorgeous women with different skin tones, we’re glad that Jessica is getting natural beauty—and diversity—right.
