We can’t say for certain which trajectory led Jared Leto to the path of style-icon status, but we’re not mad at it. As if the actor, musician, director, philanthropist, front row regular, and man-about-town (seriously, what party hasn’t he been seen at?) didn’t have enough going on already, he’s just been announced—via Snapchat!—as the new face of Gucci Guilty. Well-played, Jordan Catalano.

The fragrance’s newest campaign will be shot in Venice, Italy, under Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele, who joined the company earlier this year. Michele handpicked the man of the hour to appear in the campaign, which says a lot about the new, more modern direction the storied fashion house is going in. In the past, the brand was known for its sleek, sensual vibe, whereas Michele’s Gucci is looser, more vintage-inspired, and inherently, effortlessly cool—just like Leto himself.
