Get the Celebrity Look: Smoldering Smoky Cat-Eyes

Like we predicted, smoky eyes were a huge hit on the red carpet last week at the VMAs, and they continued to pop up on the celebrities at the Toronto Film Festival over the weekend.  Taylor Swift and P!nk were two of the many stars that we adored last week at the VMAs and we spoke to Mickey Williams, celebrity makeup artist and CVS/pharmacy Beauty Board Expert about Taylor’s look. “Taylor Swift looked gorgeously grown-up on the VMA’s red carpet. She stuck to her signature red lip and cat eye, but upped the sophistication with blunt bangs and super sleek hair,” she says.

While Taylor paired a vampy red lip to her smoky eye, a darker shadow looks best and is more ideal with a nude lip. P!nk wore the look the traditional way and Mickey says the look is easy to duplicate at home. After applying your smoky shadows, focus on the lashes. “Lashes were the focus of this look, so top eyes off with two coats of mascara. A long-wearing formula adds amazing volume and won’t budge or flake.  Keep lips nude with a camel toned lipstick and you’ll be right on trend for fall,” she explains.
