Eva Longoria Parker developed her own fragrance because she is allergic to so many ingredients.

The ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress admitted she was always envious of other women who could wear perfume, and it had never occurred to her to make her own out of the ingredients that wouldn’t make her sneeze.

Speaking at the launch of her fragrance, Eva by Eva Longoria Parker at her Beso restaurant in Los Angeles, she said: “I’ve been allergic my entire life. If someone were wearing perfume next to me, I would sneeze and sneeze and sneeze.

“I always admired people who wore perfume – I was like, ‘Gosh, I wish I could wear one. My agent said, ‘Why don’t you make one?’ ”

The resulting scent has warm, citrusy tones which Eva has branded a “day fragrance”.

She added: “I wanted something clean and fresh. Something that smelled like you just got out of the shower. And that’s how I came up with the scent.”

Eva wore a beaded Rafael Cennamo dress to the launch, which was also attended by a host of celebrities including her ‘Desperate Housewives’ co-stars Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman.

Eva’s husband, basketball player Tony Parker, had to miss the event because he had a game, but sent her a big screen message to wish her luck.
