If the hullabaloo around pumpkin spice lattes is any indication, ’tis the season for all things pumpkin. Not only does the beloved gourd make a festive decoration and a delicious pie, but it’s actually amazing for your skin, too—go figure. Rich in vitamins A and C, pumpkin soothes the skin and uses antioxidants to repair environmental damage. It’s also packed with natural exfoliating enzymes that rid your skin of dry cells, resulting in a clearer, brighter, better complexion.

Short of slathering the pulp alone on your face and waiting for a miracle, we got our hands on this amazing recipe from Indie Lee, founder and CEO of her eponymous eco-friendly skin care collection. A few extra ingredients are all you need to turn this basic seasonal ingredient into one seriously luxurious facial treatment.

Indie Lee Glowing Pumpkin Face Mask

4 tbsp. organic pumpkin puree
4 tbsp. organic honey
1/2 tbsp. Greek yogurt or avocado oil
1 drop of sandalwood essential oil
1 drop of carrot seed oil
dash of pumpkin pie spice (optional)

In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients until well-blended.
Cover the bowl using cling wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Apply to face and let sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel.
