By now you’ve likely heard that matcha is basically the health world’s new golden child. (Sorry, kale.) But did you know this antioxidant-rich wonder tea is also amazing for your skin? Not only does it include free-radical fighters, but it contains a whole slew of anti-aging ingredients that are much more gentle than vitamin c and are just as effective as anti-inflammatory agents. And it’s also rich in chlorophyll, which can help to repair and detox skin. All in all, it’s a pretty darn great option to drink or add to your beauty routine. And thankfully it’s pretty easy to do so! We hit up the experts over at DAVIDsTEA to see if they could craft up an at-home beauty recipe for us. Read on to see exactly how to master this DIY matcha and honey facial recipe.

1 tablespoon matcha powder like DAVIDsTEA Matcha Matsu powder ($17,
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
Touch of water

Mix coconut oil, vinegar, and matcha powder together. Add the honey to make a paste. Next add a a few drops of water until you arrive at the consistency of your liking. Apply the mixture to your face, making sure to avoid the eyes. Let sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water.
