Daily Inspiration: Use Eye Liner As A Pop Of Color

Shannon Farrell

We’re loving all the minimalist beauty looks on the spring/summer 2013 runwahys, but after seeing the bright eye liner at Stella McCartney and Kenzo, we’re ready to add a little pop of color to the mix.

Although we loved the pastel blue eye liner seen at Anthony Vaccarello in Paris, this jewel-toned blue-green at Stella McCartney is a little more fall friendly. The trick to keeping the look natural is to create a thin line. The models only wore liner on the bottom lash line and kept the rest of the makeup neutral.

The orange liner at Kenzo is a bit bolder, but totally wearable. We love the variation on the shape here — it’s thick on top, goes around the entire eye, and gets even thinner at the center of the bottom lash line. And to top it all off, the wing is placed at the inner corner of the eye. It’s like a reversed cat-eye.
