Straight off the fashion month runways—a marathon of shows in Europe—Bella Hadid is back in New York and debuting a fresh set of fringe. Hadid’s new bangs were spotted while she was leaving an NYC apartment wrapped in a black paisley-print scarf and sporting black shades. It’s basically the perfect model-off-duty look that’s comfortable but still chic—the Hadid special. Her long brown hair is peeking out under the scarf and her brow-grazing fringe is on full display.

These new bangs are different from the ones Hadid rocked last year. Back then, she tried face-framing layers with choppy fringe that gave off a ’60s vibe. These new ones are blunt and cut straight across with slightly longer sides. The finished product has a 2000s spin, which isn’t surprising given that so many early-aughts beauty trends are back with a vengeance. During that time, we all wore long hair and short blunt bangs that didn’t fully blend—on purpose, of course.

Chances are, Hadid’s bangs are clip-on for a fresh, but temporary, look. She loves to switch it up on us and keep the surprises coming. If you want to try bangs but are worried about taking the plunge, faux-fringe is a great option. Amazon has some affordable wigs and extensions to shop from home. Brands including Insert Name Here hawk realistic-looking fringe, such as the Zooey bangs ($65 at Insert Name Here) in 13 different shades. No one will know but you that it only took you five minutes to snap ’em in and go.
