When it comes to stars whose beauty game we admire to a ridiculous degree, Anne Hathaway is at the top of a very short list. And her latest makeup moment has us clamoring to embrace all natural, peachy-pink lips for fall.
At the New York premiere of ‘The Intern,’ makeup artist Jillian Dempsey created this gorgeous, smokey-eyed look for Anne, balancing it out with gorgeous ballet-pink lips. And the product she used? None other than The Honest Company’s Lipstick Crayon in Blossom Pink ($18, Honest Beauty).
“Anne requested I work with all-natural products,” Jillian explained. “So I got to work with the best natural brands.”
When we heard that Honest would be branching into color cosmetics, we were really excited—give us natural beauty products with a great range of shades, actual staying power and a diverse marketing campaign, and we’re all in. And after testing them out, we can tell you that not only does the line live up to our high beauty standards, the Lipstick Crayons are undoubtedly the standout products.
Blossom Pink is a sheer yet pigmented warm-toned pink. It goes on smoothly, undoubtedly thanks to the coconut oil it contains, and stays put—no feathering into fine lines around the mouth. On Anne, this color is a true ‘My Lips But Better’ glossy pink shade—but depending on your skin tone and the natural color of your lips, your mileage may vary. We love that it comes in a chubby, twist-up pencil format because it makes re-application so easy throughout the day. And speaking of which: you can expect about four hours worth of wear out of this Lipstick Crayon before you need to touch up; it lasts well for something so gloss-adjacent, but it definitely isn’t something you can apply and forget.
“Blossom Pink balanced out the pinky-nude blush on Anne’s cheeks,” said Jillian. “She looked smoking hot.”
We can’t help but agree. Dramatic eyes plus soft pink lipstick that we can’t wait to wear? Sign us up.
