Amy Schumer is bold, brilliant and funny as hell. Inside Amy Schumer is one of our all-time favorite shows—‘Girl, you don’t need makeup,’ anyone?—and now she’s taken her skills to the big screen. Trainwreck, which she wrote and stars in, is definitely one of the best movies of the year; in a world where people still genuinely wonder whether women can be funny, Schumer just goes ahead and SLAYS them with her humor and intelligence.
Fun, feminist, outspoken, gorgeous…how could she NOT be our Woman Crush Wednesday? Let’s look back at ten times that Amy Schumer’s hair and makeup game was absolutely flawless.

At Radar's Toast to the New Radicals, 2007.
Amy started doing stand-up comedy in 2004; by 2007, she was killing the competition in Last Comic Standing. Though she didn't win, the show got her some serious attention—she scored roles in Comedy Central's Reality Bites Back and 30 Rock soon after. We love her super-natural look here; blown out hair, perfect brows, subtle smoky eyes.

2012 was the year that Schumer really broke out: her Comedy Central special, Mostly Sex Stuff, was a runaway hit, she popped up in Louie with comedy god Louis CK and she starred in the supremely weird tv show, Delocated. She also got a major red carpet makeover; the hair is blonder and elegantly arranged in a super-chic low pony, her complexion a little more matte, her lips a little glossier. The entire look is pure elegance.

We're seeing Amy's signature beauty style developing here: glossy lips, matte yet radiant skin, a major smoky eye with heaps of lashes, loosely waved hair. It's a simple combination, but one that she clearly loves—and the best beauty look is one that you love.

A steel grey smoky eye is an unusual makeup choice, but one that works perfectly with Amy's dark gown and light coloring. The dramatic eyes and romantically wavy hair compliment one another perfectly; this is definitely a look you could steal for a formal summer wedding.

Our girl hosted the MTV Movie Awards and totally KILLED with this softly curled updo and SUPREME eye makeup. The key to this red carpet look? Shimmer. Highlight the inner corners of your eyes around your tear duct with shimmery light shadow; this balances out a very dark smoky look.

Much as we love Amy with her golden hair, we admit that our hearts swoon when she has a little bit of strawberry in her blonde. Voted one of Time's most influential people, her profile was written by Tilda Swinton—it's no wonder she's smiling so much in this photo.

Trainwreck, which Amy both wrote and stars in, is totally killing it at the box office. Also killing it? This upswept, vintage-inspired updo. Bonus points for the shimmery mauve cheeks and IMMACULATE eyebrows.

Um, a sideswept messy braid? Be still, our beating hearts! Bonus points for the hair wrapped around the tie at the end to conceal it; that's an advanced move, and one that really paid off. She's also rocking slightly darker brows here than she has before, and we are HERE for it.

We love Amy's elaborate hairstyles, but we also love when she keeps it simple: this chic updo with loose front layers. If you haven't seen Trainwreck, do yourself a favor and go see it; you'll fall in love with Amy even more. Go be a modern chick who does what she wants!
