The Screen Actors Guild Awards aren't only notable because they're effectively the prelude to the Oscars—we also think it's pretty cool that they're the only awards in which actors vote for their industry peers. It goes without saying that we're pretty excited about the red carpet beauty, too. Celebrities don't exactly bring out the big guns as they'll be doing for the Oscars next month, but that doesn't mean that we didn't spot some incredible looks last night.

Best Red Lip: Emma Stone
We can’t say we’re ever surprised when Emma shows up looking totally flawless, but her perfect red lip went above and beyond, especially with her equally gorgeous groomed brows and side-parted ponytail. Want the look? Of course you do—Emma’s makeup artist Rachel Goodwin divulged that she used Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in HD Gladiolus to create the perfect pout.

Best Beachy Waves: Amy Poehler
We already sort of wanted to be Amy Poehler, but on top of everything else that’s great about her (so yeah, everything), she has her beachy waves game on lock, too, thanks to these loose, large-barrel curls and her multi-dimensional color.

Best Center Part: Julianne Moore
We’re loving the center part look right now, but we can’t argue with the fact that it’s pretty hard to pull off without looking like your fifth grade self. Julianne Moore, however, rocked it just right on the red carpet, with piecey texture and low-key makeup.

Best Ponytail: Reese Witherspoon
The stakes are high when it comes to mastering the perfect ponytail that steers clear of the “gym pony” look while also managing not to be too dressed up. Let Reese lead by example: With bouncy volume in the lengths and a section of hair wrapped around the base, it’s the kind of ponytail we all wish we knew how to do.

Best Natural Look: Felicity Jones
Felicity is fairly new to the red carpet scene, but she certainly hasn’t suffered from an inaugural awkward phase. Her look last night nailed the “no makeup” makeup effect that leaves you looking like yourself, just a little more polished.

Best Updo: Emmy Rossum
Classic, romantic, and just a little bit cool, Emmy’s chic, messy updo hits all the right notes. We love the look of long, face-framing layers left loose—they’re super pretty and flattering, especially when loosely curled.

Best Red Carpet Waves: Claire Danes
If we could transpose Claire’s hair and put it right on our heads right now, we would without a second thought. This look is the perfect example of a more modern take on the classic red carpet waves, soft and flowing without veering into “cheesy” territory.

Best Eyebrows: Emilia Clarke
We’re guessing that Emilia has genetics to thank rather than a makeup artist, but we’re still inclined to give credit where credit is due. Bold brows will never go out of style (we don’t think), but Emilia’s natural arches and full look are among the most covetable we’ve ever seen. Maybe she’s born with it. Well, most likely.

Best Bob: Kelly Macdonald
Raise your hand if you’ve ever asked your stylist for the Alexa Chung look—long curtain bangs, choppy ends, slightly featured texture—and left the salon looking more like Clay Aiken… which is to say, it isn’t exactly easy to get, never mind maintain, the insouciant look. “Boardwalk Empire” star Kelly Macdonald, however, has got it down to a science. We’ll arrive at our next salon visit with this picture in hand.

Best Hair Color: Sophie Turner
Okay, so this is kind of a cheap one, considering Sophie has the kind of gorgeous deep strawberry blonde that jut does not come out of a box—that’s all nature. We may not be able to achieve it ourselves, but at least we can admire Sophie’s from afar. Sigh.
