The ponytail has had quite the comeback over the last couple of seasons, and it is showing no signs of slowing down. This easy style can be taken from school or work to a party in no time at all.

We teamed up with Herbal Essences and hairstylist Wesley O’Meara to walk us through the steps of getting a volumized ponytail for your next night out. Above he shows us what products to use and the steps to take if you have naturally curly hair that needs to be amped up for your next event. We recommend straightening your hair first, and then following the steps above.

If you have straight hair or thick hair, watch for steps to how to get a volumized ponytail for your hair type in the coming days!

Step 1: Part your hair into a deep side part.

Step 2: Apply Herbal Essences Anti-Frizz Creme from the mid-shaft to ends.

Step 3: Starting at the crown of your head, tease the hair with a teasing brush (Wesley is using the Phillips 3 Row Teasing Brush).

Step 4: Then, lightly brush the teased area back into a ponytail and secure with an elastic. Spritz hair with Set Me Up Hairspray.

Step 5: Pull a strand of hair out from your ponytail and wrap around your elastic, securing in place with a spritz of hairspray and bobby pin.

Step 6: Finish the look by spraying with Herbal Essences Set Me Up Hairspray, and now you're ready to head from dinner with your girlfriends out to drinks in style!
