As a lover of all things kitsch, I fell head over heels when I saw Anya Hindmarch‘s Spring 2015 collection come down the runway during London Fashion Week. I’d always been a fan of the designer’s humorous take on apparel and accessories, but this particular offering resonated with me in a very real way, especially the leather bags covered in what looked like bright, playful stickers. The problem? The one I was coveting was over $3,000.
Well, that Anya’s one smart girl: Foreseeing the impact of her charming collection, the label released a range of individual leather stickers—smiley faces, initials, googly eyes, hashtags, cheeky speech bubbles—that allowed fans to get the look of her runway bags for a fraction of the price.
When the stickers came out last winter, I bought a few sporadically—between $55 and $70 a pop, I wasn’t really willing to buy a ton at once—and started customizing a five-year-old Phillip Lim Pashli satchel. The only problem was, since I was accumulating at a glacial pace, the stickers sold out so fast that I wasn’t able to even try and replicate the look of Anya’s runway bag.
To my relief, the brand decided to release a new batch of stickers for Fall 2015, and they’re even cooler and more colorful than the previous collection, which is a blessing and a curse for someone whose mission it is to (try) and replicate the above runway satchel.
Still, I plan to buy as many as I can—even if it means easing up on fall shopping. I’d rather have a one-of-a-kind bag this season than another pair of ankle boots, anyway.
Below, a few of my favorite stickers from Anya Hindmarch’s fall collection, all available at the designer’s website.
