Anna Wintour was a sight to behold at Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 show during New York Fashion Week—for a good half hour, she was seated all alone in the gaping VIP section in Madison Square Garden, awaiting the arrival of the fur-clad Kardashian crew. Given her punctuality, it’s no surprise she was ready to dip out a little early from the show, which stretched on for well over an hour (which is an hour longer than most fashion shows last).
Last night on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the Vogue editor recounted her experience of trying to make a quick exit from the “migrant-chic” show—which, she added, was “wonderful.” And unlike her signature quick dash down the runway following the final walk, this time things got a little more complicated.
“After 45 minutes, I did happen to notice that Jay Z had snuck away, so I thought maybe I could sneak out after him without anybody noticing,” she explained. “I slid into the basement of Madison Square Garden, and I was lost there for half an hour asking various people to let me out.”
Finally, she confessed, she was “really in tears” when a security guard noticed her and asked whether her son had played baseball. Turns out, he was his coach—seriously, what are the odds?
As you can see, Wintour made it out of the trying ordeal in one piece; however, we’re going to go ahead and say this is what Kanye Karma looks like:
