Alberta Ferretti F(rocks) the Red Carpet

The House of Alberta Ferretti has always been a red carpet staple for socials, starlets, and A-listers looking to make an elegant statement and climb the best dressed lists. Lately the trend has become a boom, with both East Coast and West Coast VIPS choosing Ferretti for benefits and premieres alike. “Mad Men” actress January Jones dazzled in the line at their LA store opening in November, and in early February, Bollywood babe Aishwarya Rai wore a black silk chiffon gown to the premiere of “Pink Panther 2” in New York. Additionally, their fashion week presentation beckoned the likes of Amanda Peet (in Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti’s 2008 Pre Fall Collection), model Devon Aoki (in Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti’s 2009 Spring Collection) and 90210 star Shenae Grimes (in Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti’s 2008 Fall Winter Collection).

The Academy Awards brought out Meryl Streep looking stately in grey silk chiffon empire-waisted gown, and Helena Christensen glowed in the Italian duds at the Vanity Fair Oscar party hours later. A few days after socialite and diamond heiress Annabel Vartanian awed high society in an Alberta Ferretti black velvet and lace gown, coupled with Erickson Beamon accessories. More recently, Jill Hennessy chose a red asymmetrical silk satin Alberta Ferretti dress to the premiere of “Lymelife” at the Gen Art Film Festival in New York on April 1st, 2009.

Alberta Ferretti is not only about fashion–the brand is an avid supporter of charity. Indeed, this year, the distinguished organization known as C.H.I.P.S (Colleagues Helpers in Philanthropic Service), founded in 1966, has chosen Alberta Ferretti as this year’s honoree for their prestigious spring luncheon and fall fashion show, which will be held on May 6th, 2009 at the Montage Beverly Hills in Beverly Hills, California. The C.H.I.P.S members consist of 40 prominent Angeleno women, working together to support the Children’s Institute, Inc (CII). CII, one of the city’s oldest and largest non-profit social services agencies, helps children who have been affected by violence in their homes and communities. Ferreti does not take the award lightly, exclaiming, “I’m honored to accept the invitation from the C.H.I.P.S members. Children are our future, the future of humanity, and any act of violence toward children is a crime against the future of our civilization. I’m grateful to all of the women that invest their time, energy, and efforts in C.H.I.P.S. Their dedication is not only inspiring, but essential in giving hope to the future of our children, and to those who believe that violence does not have a place in our culture.”

What’s next for the brand? Cena Jackson, Public Relations Director, says, “Spring is always an exciting and busy time because it’s filled with the season’s charity galas, [such as] the Costume Institute Benefit, which Alberta Ferretti will be attending this year with her celebrity guest, still to be determined, and the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.” Jackson added, “The biggest endeavor we have coming up is the launch of our fragrance, which will launch in Europe this year.”
