9 Coachella Acts You Need To Know
WHY SHE'S RAD: There's a 95% chance you've already heard of this fast-talking MC, who has won the hearts of fashion's elite like Karl Lagerfeld and Nicola Formichetti. We're curious to see how her live performance will hold up on the massive Coachella stage, which definitely won't be as intimate as her performances for Karl and co., right inside Karl's own home!
WHY THEY'RE RAD: Girls creates pure Californian rock for today's Instagram-addicted youngsters (they're from San Francisco, FYI). Naturally, they're an obvious go-see choice for Coachella.
WHY HE'S RAD: This solo Aussie artist is blowing up so big right now that one of his songs just got covered on a recent episode of Glee. Thus proving my theory that his songs are really hard not to love and sing along to.
WHY SHE'S RAD: Ximena (pronounced He-men-ah) makes cutesy, girly pop, with a few jams that have a quirky electro vibe to them. Also, don't be surprised if she busts out a few songs en Español.
WHY THEY'RE RAD: Meet five fashionable young lads that make Brit pop rock jams that are quite easy to listen to. Plus, they're definitely a good heaping of eye candy, if you don't mind me saying so.
WHY HE'S RAD: Combining chillwave with R&B sensibilities, The Weeknd (a.k.a. Abel Tesfaye) has got some really refreshing mellow tunes going on, like whoa.
WHY HE'S RAD: If you're looking for some disco-funk-electro ditties, then check out our main man Breakbot (a.k.a. Thibaut Berland) who has got some sweet glitterball tunes for your dancing shoes. Note: You're going to want to break out anything covered in sequins for this dude's set.
WHY THEY'RE RAD: If you combined indie bands Vampire Weekend with fellow Coachella-playing band tUnEyArDs, you would get the 5-piece band known as GIVERS. Listening to their songs may cause a sudden urge to go shopping for Toms shoes, denim cut-offs and woven hemp cross-body handbags.
