Roman Abramovich's St. Barts New Year's Eve Bash: The party was rumored to cost Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich $7 million. 400 guests partied the night away, there were fireworks, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers entertained guests. It got 2012 off to a good start for the international jet set.

Karl Collection Launch Party: For the relaunch of his Karl collection in January, famed designer Karl Lagerfeld chose one of the most exclusive venues in the world, his Paris home, as the setting for the event. The entertainment was Azealia Banks. Enough said, we are seriously jealous for whoever made the guest list for this one.

Chanel's Opening for Numeros Privees: For the opening of Numeros Privees in January Chanel flew its favorite folks to Las Vegas via private jets for a series of parties, one of which included a late night dim sum dinner at the Wynn Las Vegas.

2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Held at the Sunset Tower the Vanity Fair party is the Oscar party to attend. Those who got past some of the tightest security on the planet got the chance to party with Justin Bieber, Katie Holmes, Gwyneth Paltrow and just about every other A-Lister on the planet.

Met Gala 2012: The Met Gala is often dubbed "The Party of the Year." This year's May event was no exception. The exhibit the party feted was the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Schiaparelli and Prada show and every A-Lister that mattered showed up from Beyonce to Carey Mulligan.

5th Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic: What could be better than unlimited Veuve Clicquot, hot polo players (ahem, Nacho Figueras) and celebrity guests like Clive Owen? The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic took place this year in June on Liberty State Park and was undoubtedly one of the parties of the year.

Salvatore Ferragamo's Fête For Its Resort 2013 Collection: Ferragamo showed its resort wear collection at the Louvre in June of this year drawing the likes of Freida Pinto and Hilary Swank (pictured here posing with Ferragamo Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti). The after-show dinner was held beneath the translucent Louvre Pyramid. Partying near the Mona Lisa? Well that's priceless.

Margherita Missoni's Wedding: Leave it to bohemian fashionista Margherita Missoni to throw a seriously jaw dropping wedding this summer in June in Italy. Her Giambattista Valli wedding gown was just as swoon worthy as the event.

Louis Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama Dinner: Yayoi Kusama was a no-show at her own welcome-back party in July, but that didn't stop A-listers like Sofia Coppola and Diane Kruger or art world stars like Tom Sachs and Kara Walker from raising a glass in the Japanese iconoclast's honor at the opening of her Whitney retrospective in July. Everyone left the event with Kusama dots in their eyes.

Dolce & Gabbana Couture Debut: Italian duo Dolce & Gabbana debuted their couture collection with a weekend of parties in Sicily in July. If anyone knows how to party in Sicily it is the Dolce crew.

Harry Winston Debuts Ocean Sport Collection On Shelter Island: Some guests arrived via seaplane. Others arrived via chauffeured Rolls Royces. Guests at the July dinner included Hilary Rhoda and Waris Ahluwalia and The Virgins got the crowd dancing late night.

Aspen Art Museum Art Crush 2012: Ask art connoisseurs where true art collectors gather and the inevitable answer is Aspen in the summer. At the center of the Aspen summer scene is the Aspen Art Museum's annual benefit Art Crush which drew the likes of Dasha Zhukova and Haley Mellin in 2012.

Prince Harry's Private Party at the Wynn Hotel: Prince Harry made news the world over when photos leaked of him partying naked in a hotel room at the Wynn Las Vegas in August got leaked to the press. The really question is, where was our invite Big H?

Opening Ceremony's 10th Anniversary: It's rare that fashion folk let their hair down and just have fun at a fashion party, but at Opening Ceremony's September party at the Webster Hall during New York fashion week that is exactly what happened. The fact that Lil Kim performed was just icing on the cake.

CR Launch Party: To launch her latest project CR magazine, editor Carine Roitfeld pulled out all of the stops in September. The party was held at the Frick Museum and guests were required to wear black tie. Every model that mattered was there including Kate Upton, Karlie Kloss, and Bar Refaeli, who all took to the dance floor.

AdR for H&M Launch Event: Leave it to street style star and fashion editor Anna Dello Russo to throw one of the most memorable parties of the year. For the launch of her collection for H&M, Dello Russo descended from the ceiling of her September party in a heart-shaped contraption covered in rose petals. She also hired lookalikes to dance the night away with.

Chloé's 60th Anniversary: At the Palais de Tokyo in September, the legendary French house feted the opening of its exhibit “Chloé.ATTITUDES,” which spotlights the brand’s six decades in fashion. Singers HollySiz and Little Boots performed to a stylish crowd at the after-party.

Carine Roitfeld's Le Bal: MAC and Carine Roitfeld celebrated their new makeup collaboration with a party at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild during Paris fashion week in September. The party ended with a late night pillow fight among guests. Enough said.

Luxembourg Royal Wedding: When Prince Guillaume and Countess Stephanie De Lannoy got married in a glitzy affair in October our initial reaction was, "Thank heavens for another royal wedding!" Between the Elie Saab couture gown and the royal guest list we weren't let down.

Mario Testino's Boston MFA Exhibit Opening: Boston doesn't exactly have a reputation as a party capital. Mario Testino‘s first-ever stateside museum show, which drew Anna Wintour, Hamish Bowles, Karlie Kloss and many more, held in October, changed a lot of perceptions.

H&M Fetes Margiela Capsule Collection: Leave it to H&M to draw the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker and Kanye West to an abandoned building in the Financial District in New York City for the launch of its Margiela Capsule Collection in November.

Chanel's Art Basel Barbecue For Chanel's Basel BBQ in December was a low-key affair that drew the likes of Demi Moore, Lenny Kravitz and the Brant Brothers who played ping pong with Chanel gear and danced the night away oceanside. So really it wasn't low-key at all, unless of course you are an A-lister used to these kinds of parties.
