10 Celebrities Who Stripped Down for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

By now, you’re probably very familiar with seeing every single person you know and many you don’t pour freezing buckets of ice over their heads. And while it’s been taking over every imaginable social media feed, there’s no denying the viral initiative is pretty amazing.

Known as the #IceBucketChallenge, the idea is that you either donate money to charity that benefits fatal neurodegenerative disease ALS—also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease—or dump a bucket of ice over yourself. One you’ve made your choice, you nominate up to three friends to do the same within a 24-hour period, and so the cycle continues.

The ALS Association has received just over $13 million in donations from July 29 to August 17—a huge testament to the effect of the campaign, which was started by former captain of the Boston College baseball team Pete Frates, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2012.

We’ve seen hundreds of celebrities taking part over the weekend—everyone from Bill Gates to Justin Bieber, and while some stars like Chloe Grace Moretz, Hailee SteinfeldSelena Gomez and Caley Kuoco participated in the challenge wearing normal clothes, others used the opportunity to show off their bodies in tiny bathing suits (this is Instagram after all.)

Here, we’ve rounded up 10 stars who stripped down for the ALS Bucket Challenge. Hey, we’re not judging—the more awareness raised, the better.
