Williamsburg Fashion Week(end) Begins Tonight

Just because The Bryant Park Tents are being taken down doesn’t mean New York Fashion Week is over. Rather, the Tents are moving across the East River and into Brooklyn as a part of Williamsburg Fashion Week(end) which starts tonight and continues through Saturday night.

Williamsburg Fashion Week will feature Alisha Trimble; Total Crap Uninc.; NinkyBink with Angel Lust; TreeHouse; Sodafine; SDN; Racecar; King Gurvy; Yard and No Name Collective. These emerging designers were selected for their avant garde and unabashed approach to fashion.

In true Brooklyn fashion (no pun intended), founder Arthur Arbit has stripped Fashion Week of its perceived glamour and leaves attendees with a gritty, raw and unrated fashion showcase. The iconic white tents of Fashion Week have been traded out for the art space Secret Project Robot. The accompanying background music will be replaced with live performances by Hamish Kilgour; Pink Stallone; Hard Nips; Javelin; Shira Goldberg; DJ C0unt Zyr0; and Cleo Fishel. Best of all, no door girls with clipboards and headsets– this event is open to the public.
