What to pack for spring break? As far as dilemmas go, this is a pretty good one to have—and let’s just say that those of us past college years are feeling pretty envious right now.
Whether you’re going to Cancun, Punta Cana, or Miami Beach for your week of sun, fun, and binge-drinking, you’re going to need a wardrobe of swimwear, sandals, and sunglasses to get you through it (and show off on Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and Twitter, obviously).
Now, if we’ve learned one thing from Instagram, it’s that celebrities are really, really good at tropical vacations. So, we’re turning to four stars who have mastered the art of the vacay for guidance, and letting Beyoncé, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Gigi Hadid be our spring break spirit guides.
Read on for the packing tips we’ve compiled—courtesy of your favorite celebs.
Our sincere apologies to everyone else on this list, but no one does vacay like RiRi. The pop star is unparalleled in her ability to inspire Instagram envy as she sunbathes on yachts, sips on margaritas, hangs with baby monkeys (?!), and generally looks fabulous—often with a blunt in hand. To capture her out-of-office aesthetic, you'll need a few key pieces: a string bikini, layers of gold body chains, some don't-fuck-with-me sunglasses, and a sun hat to shield yourself from those not worthy of your gaze (if it matches Ri's new denim-heavy Manolo Blahnik collaboration, all the better).

Thank you, T. Swift, for documenting the beach holiday to end all beach holidays just as I was putting this story together. Not only were the 1989 star's 'Grams with boyfriend Calvin Harris notable for their The Notebook: Hawaii–style poses, they also suggest that she may have ditched her once-ubiquitous high-waisted bikinis once and for all. If you're going to emulate Tay on your spring break, you'll want to a) bring along your boyfriend, obviously; b) pack a femme-yet-sporty two-piece; and c) brush up on your Victoria's Secret swimsuit poses (because clearly she's been taking notes).

Somehow, Queen B seems to be simultaneously always on vacation and always putting out tons of work. We're not sure how she does it, but at least we do know what she wears when she's out in the tropics with Blue Ivy and Jay Z. Bey's wardrobe is heavy on floral rompers (often from accessible retailers like ASOS and Nasty Gal), statement sun hats, figure-flattering one-pieces, and off-the-shoulder tops. Alas, despite her affinity for metaphorical surfboards, we have yet to see her surf.

As a model for Victoria's Secret, Sports Illustrated, Seafolly, and more, Hadid spends a huge amount of time in a bikini—even for a 20-year-old Cali girl. And why not? While technically most of it counts as "work," the uniform works just as well for time off the clock. Throw in some mirrored sunglasses, strappy sandals, and a workout-friendly top—because you know those abs don't come from skipping the gym for a few afternoon Coronas—and the Hadid starter pack is yours.
