It’s been a big year for the designers behind Vena Cava, Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock. After a turbulent winter in which the label abstained from holding fashion shows and was reportedly moving out of their offices in Soho, the beloved indie brand announced a new partnership with LF USA, which would not only boost their finances but also allow them a wider range of distribution.

The designers have been very enthusiastic about the partnership, and the resulting collection for spring does seem to be pure Vena Cava, from the silhouettes to the inventive textiles and prints. For Spring 2013, the designers were inspired by photos of Lisa’s family in Tijuana in the 1930s, and the resulting collection — which features hand-antiqued Mexican silver hardware and hand-painted prints — has a distinctly south of the border vibe, though as only Vena Cava could convey it.

Take a look at the complete collection here, and let us know what you think!
