Ladylike elements combined with edgy details, anchored by modern separates and splashy prints are all keywords and phrases that can be applied to Tory Burch’s Fall 2013 collection, showcased today at New York’s posh Pierre hotel.
The logo-free collection—quite different than Burch’s past offerings—featured less resort-style pieces, and more chic, fashion-forward items. Highlights included leather dresses, insect prints, structured sweaters, plaid pants, and layered printed dresses worn over crisp blouses and tight turtlenecks.Vintage-style elements played a prominent role as well, such as below-the-knee skirts and covered-up silhouettes.
Overall, the collection isn’t quite what you’d expect from the ultra-commerical Burch—made famous by flats and bags with her oversized metal medallion emblem—but clearly continued her transition from mom-staple to high-style.
