There’s nothing more refreshing than a little unexpected surprise. I think that Tibi has a lovely market cornered on pretty prints and dresses that have you longing for Palm Beach, Palm Springs, Nantucket, or any other charming beachside community where you might imagine a modern Slim Aarons girl.
For Resort, however, the season of little printed dresses and tennis whites, Tibi went with a more streamlined, almost urban approach. Designer, Amy Smilovic explains, “In seasons past, my Resort collections catered to the vacation set, but this one is geared very much for year round dressing. I juxtaposed soft leather pencil skirts with washed silk draped blouses and added a leather detachable collar to a cocktail dress to give it more of an edge, Im loving these contrasting elements.
The reserved pallet of blush, tan, gold and black, were livened with more conventional Tibi shades of turquoise and poppy red. My name’s on a white dress with leather collar detail. How about you?
