As someone who unashamedly wears gym gear just about all the time—even when I have zero intention of actually working out—I’m hardcore about choosing which exercise clothes I buy.
I’ve tried, tested and tossed out dozens of fitness labels, and there are really only a handful that have made it into my regular wardrobe rotation. At the top of that list is The Upside, an Australian activewear name with a cult following Down Under.
The label only launched last year, but despite being super new has been worn by celebs such as Candice Swanepoel, Kim Kardashian and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Now, Net-a-Porter‘s picked up the brand and is stocking it alongside luxury activewear from Theory+ and Adidas by Stella McCartney—a major coup for any young international label.
So, why all the fuss? Well, The Upside makes the kind of sleek, comfortable activewear that motivates you to get off your butt, and start getting sweaty. Prices are generally what you’d expect from a luxe activewear label, and tights come in at around $100.
Granted, minimalists won’t find much among the brightly-printed pants and metallic sports bras, but if you’re easily bored with black lycra exercise clothes (same!), step this way. After all, nothing gets you moving like the promise of a fresh new gym wardrobe.
