Just when we think we had Valentino pegged as this uber-traditionalist, he’s got to go and shock us with something stupidly innovative. If his documentary wasn’t enough eye-candy for you, he’s taken the plunge and will be launching his own online archive/museum. Um, can we say yes please? We caught a glimpse of the site that will officially launch December 5 (peep it yourself here!)
As far as we can tell, some of the main highlights of the site will be the extensive up-close-and-personal ability to see dresses from the very beginning of his insane line. (We can’t wait to see all the editorials from the 60’s and 70’s when this Italian firecracker really started to get his groove going.) Another insanely cool aspect will be the fact that you can guide your own tour through the museum, which means more personalization to your own interests. (Don’t you hate it when websites keep forcing you to go to sections you could care less about? So do we, so this sounds right up our alley.)
We also can’t wait to check out the interviews and commentary from Valentino’s right-hand man, Giancarlo Giammetti. This righteous duo has been through the works together, and we can’t wait to see their newest initiative in all its glory — which we’re sure it will be nothing short of fabulous.
