Fashion followers, prepare to look as if you’re heading to the country club this spring, as a variety of designers walked updated versions of preppy tennis sweaters down the Spring 2014 runways.
Rag & Bone, Band of Outsiders, and Karen Walker all showcased the V-neck style—reminiscent of those tennis and cricket players wore in the 1950s and 1960s—yet each put their own modern spin on the knits.
In keeping with Band of Outsiders designer Scott Sternberg’s love for all things preppy-cool, he maintained a more traditional approach, while Rag & Bone stayed true to its downtown-hip aesthetic by presenting a modern version of the look with a super-deep V-neck.
For her part, Walker stuck with her eclectic styling choices, pairing the sweater with a short skirt and a masculine tailored shirt buttoned all the way to the top.
