Spring Trend: Embellished Details

Razzle-dazzle was the name of many designers’ runway game for spring, considering the amount of eye-catching sequins, embellished fabrics and strategic stones we saw.

While designers such as Bottega Veneta and Vera Wang sent tastefully blinged-out garments down the runway, it was Dolce and Gabbana that really brought the drama. Interestingly (and, frankly, humorously, given the duo’s money troubles), shiny coins were a motif throughout the collection, appearing on belts, sandals, earrings and as prints on bell-sleeved dresses. Other pieces featured shimmering gold beading and heavy embellishments, which looked every bit as expensive as they likely are.

The trick to looking like a million bucks when trying out this trend? Keep your embellishments strategic—a beaded skirt paired with a blouse, a boxy dress with beading or sequins, or a top with some sparkle at the collar.
