GANT by Michael Bastian presented their Spring 2013 pieces on the Galapagos islands, a cluster of islands famously “discovered” by Charles Darwin. Styles included muted shades of taupes, grays and greens along with pops of color like yellow, turquoise and silver. Much like how Dawin’s exploration of the islands led to a new theory about evolution, designer Michael Bastian chose to remain curious this season and continue to discover new styles, fabric manipulation and themes around the idea that you can still change the world.

Standout pieces included a lace-up shirtdress for women and an olive and turquoise parka for men. What we loved most about this collection (besides the awesome presentation) was how practical these pieces were. Shirts could be styled with a glamorous ball-gown skirt and a hooded mesh pullover could be added to a chic workout outfit. As designer Michael Bastian continues to “discover,” fans of the line can also continue to discover new ways to incorporate the pieces into their existing wardrobes.
