Spotted: The Wide-Brimmed Hat

Providing a fun, final update to her effortless summer sheath, we're digging this summer friendly outfit seen on Morning Cloak.

Krystal Simpson from What Is Reality Anyway looks all kinds of 60's wonderful in her hat and boyfriend blazer.

High-waisted shorts are one of our summer essentials this season. Here, Kara from Between Birds. looks all kinds of cool with her vintage inspired look.

Could this look be anymore on trend for summer? We love Steffy's ombré dip-dyed shorts and lilac blouse. The hat adds the perfect punctuation to her look.

We used to have anxiety over pairing yellow and black together -- bumblebee syndrome! Rouge Fox proves us wrong with her lingerie shorts and over-sized sun hat.

This is the ultimate weekend look. Between the pleats and the hat, this look Karen from Where Did U Get That says all kinds of relaxation if you ask us.

Lightweight and unexpectedly feminine, we love this straw hat as seen on the Hearabouts.

This look is all kinds of retro and we're into how Mitzi from Night Lights isn't afraid to rock some color on her head topper.

We love a billowing and breezy dress. To us, this is a great look worn by Tuula.

We love all things striped and this outfit seen on Rainbows & Fairy Dust is no exception.

We’ve been noticing quite a bit of ’60s and ’70s influences on the runways and on the streets this summer. From bell-bottoms to peasant blouses to round-framed sunglasses — the look is all sorts of retro. Cruising the circuit of our favorite fashion blogs, we’ve seen that this trend isn’t confined just to our NYC home, either.

As we were going through examples of ladies that have taken genius approaches to the trend, we noticed one major staple that seemed to be present in many of the outfits: the wide-brimmed hat.

These toppers are both functional (who wants to get sunburned?) and a fabulous way to punctuate an outfit. Plus, you can find them at a variety of stores — from designer shops to vintage stores.

Here, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite wide-brimmed hat looks, as seen on some of our favorite bloggers.
