Everyone knows that I’m an Etsy junkie. I check the site every single day, without fail, and more often than not, end up clicking away until I find some handmade trinket I just have to have. Still, I never realized that the site has another section called Etsy Labs where one can sign up for classes in arts like mosaics, crochet, embroidery, encaustic painting (the art of painting with beeswax), and my personal favorite….book binding. This is the kind of thing that makes me feel a little like I’m in elementary school again, creatively dabbling with art and constantly learning new things. And that makes me happy.
Another cool thing about Etsy Labs is that if you don’t happen to have time to invest in a full course, you can browse around and stumble upon the greatest things….a detailed, step-by-step recipe for how to make your own lip balm, for example. It’s always been a secret dream of mine to start a beauty company selling creams and potions made in my very own kitchen.
For the time being, I’m planning on signing up for Bookbinding 101. Any takers?
