NYFW SS 2012: Printed Matter at Richard Chai Love

Riotous prints, sharp cut outs and sporty details ruled the runway atRichard Chai‘s menswear and Richard Chai Love presentation yesterday at Lincoln Center. Rather than creating red-carpet gowns for actresses or model-off-duty looks like many of his contemporaries, Chai wisely focuses on creating clothes you would want to wear in real life, even if you’re pairing them with a bright purple lip.

In particular, we loved the tropical floral prints, graphic stripes and punchy colors of Chai’s womenswear looks. His baseball jackets, oversized beading, and cool lace-up sneakers were just the thing to ground the pretty colors and flowing maxi skirts.
