Okay, we know this may be a controversial choice but we absolutely adored Miley Cyrus in Emilio Pucci. She's worn the designer before and always killed it, and this is no exception. However, we can't say the same for her hair. We sincerely hope she doesn't walk down the aisle with this 'do, but for tonight, it worked.

Nicki Minaj is certainly talented and her performance with Alicia Keys and Gabby Douglas was a highlight of tonight's show, however we think it's time she relaxed and dressed slightly more, well, normal for a red carpet. This Versace jumpsuit may have worked if she left the neon wig at home.

Emma Watson was funky, fresh and dressed to impress in a Peter Pilotto dress paired with Tom Ford shoes. While this would have looked a bit busy on other people, she pulls it off effortlessly.

Rita Ora is quickly becoming one of our favorite people to see on the red carpet. In a custom Emilio Pucci jumpsuit, a trusty pair of Louboutins and a Jimmy Cloo clutch, she proved that she's seriously [...]

Taylor Swift's white suit may not have been the biggest risk, but hey, she's trying her best to be a Kennedy right now, so this J. Mendel number was perfect.

We were incredibly impressed with Katy Perry who donned an Elie Saab dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and a toned down hair and makeup look. While we are used to seeing Katy be a little silly on the red carpet, her grown up glam is a total win in our books.

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose made a big announcement tonight: that they're expecting a baby! We don't really think this was a suitable outfit to make such a statement, but hey, to each her own. Regardless of the 'fit, her skin looked stunning and they looked more in love than ever.

Who doesn't love Pink? The latest CoverGirl is always a blast and seemed comfortable on the red carpet, but we weren't crazy about her floor length Stella McCartney dress. Perhaps a higher hemline would [...]

Who doesn't love Pink? The latest CoverGirl is always a blast and seemed comfortable on the red carpet, but we weren't crazy about her floor length Stella McCartney dress. Perhaps a higher hemline would have been a better option!

Alicia Keys looked regal in a Alexandre Vauthier dress paired with Gucci shoes. We guess that her placement on Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed list this year has stepped up her style game!

Demi Lovato has been through a lot and we've always applauded her openness -- but tonight, we simply can't applaud her outfit.

Gabby Douglas looked age-appropriate, adorable and thrilled to be at the VMAs tonight in BCBG. Talk about a winner!

Zoe Saldana may have been a bit plain for the VMAs, but the Ferragamo dress was form-fitting and fabulous.

Kesha's look was a bit tired, and we hope that next time she hits a major red carpet, she does it in a stunning gown and surprises everyone.

Regina Spektor is one of our favorite singers, and we still find ourselves humming along to her music. But this black dress just wasn't doing the trick, and she should have opted for something more [...]

Tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards were chock full of everything we’ve come to expect from the VMAs: a lot of trash talking from host Kevin Hart, awesome performances from stars like Frank Ocean, and plenty of memorable red carpet looks that we will definitely be talking about tomorrow morning.

While it may be New York Fashion Week, some celebrities clearly missed the memo that looking stylish is generally a prerequisite for a major awards show. Yes, that’s right, folks — not everyone looked fabulous!

Let’s take a moment and recap, shall we? Click through the gallery above for the best and worst looks from this year’s VMAs.
