Ever since Jeremy Scott unveiled his new vision for Moschino two years ago, the label’s Fashion Week shows have been as much about the spectacle as they are about the clothes. Every season, the designer chooses a theme (or several) and goes hard, whether it’s with candy wrapper-print cocktail dresses, handbags adorned with McDonald’s golden arches, or fringed ball gowns inspired by car wash couture.
This season, he seems to draw his inspiration from a junk shop. The runway at his fall show (happening in Milan right this very moment) is piled up with Persian rugs, while guests in the front row are sitting amid old chandeliers and broken-down baby grand pianos.
Like seasons past, Scott will make a capsule collection available for purchase almost immediately following the show (February 28 on StyleBop, to be exact). This year’s theme? “It’s Lit.” And, like the Barbie mirror, teddy bear, and Windex bottle phone cases before it, we’re sure we’ll be seeing the “Fashion Kills” faux cigarette packs on street-style stars any day now.
