Me and You and All the Jewelry I Know

This weekend, our own intrepid Brandon Perlman ventured out to Williamsburg, Brooklyn and found a little jewelry designer he happened to love. Want a man’s advice? Listen to our man BP–I do. Here’s his assessment:

My extent of jewelry knowledge is similar to that of a fruit fly. All reaction and instinct. I have no idea what I like, I don’t know my three C’s, everything seems overpriced, and if it doesn’t tick or let you use Google maps it just seems worthless. SO, this past weekend at the Williamsburg designers market, when I found jewelry I loved, I knew I had to be onto something. Now maybe its just my affinity for the quirkier side of life, but the idea of a girl wearing a Tyrannosaurus Rex or a giant wishbone around her next just screams “SEXYY.”

Vera Balyura is the head designer and owner of these creations and her line goes by the name VERAMEAT. With clients including Michel Gondry and Miranda July (swooon) she is poised to corner my jewelry market, plus the pieces are priced reasonably enough for great gifts or just super-chic additions to your personal collection. Vera produces all sorts of amazing things from necklaces, to earrings and rings. The Pirate’s Ship wheel ring, and uber-chic “Bad Ass Elegance Knuckle Duster,” a super sleek and glam version of brass knuckles will keep your hands looking cute while adding an extra level of protection.
