Lydia Hearst Channels The Red Balloon for Italian Vogue

Lydia Hearst posed for a photo shoot Friday afternoon in the Meatpacking District in New York City for an upcoming issue of Italian Vogue. Riding a teal bicycle, the publishing heiress/model wore a black fringed dress, pink and white sneakers, and a green military jacket. The red and green balloons tied to the back of her bike remind me of Albert Lamorisse’s The Red Balloon (or Le Ballon Rouge), which won an Oscar, as well as the short film award at Cannes in 1956.
