To say it’s been a landmark period for the “T” in the LGBT movement would be an understatement.

From the transition retweeted ‘round the world (Caitlyn Jenner, we’re looking at you) to the upcoming E! docuseries “I am Cait,” it’s clearly a crucial time for members of the transgender community.

The latest announcement comes via Madame Tussauds that Laverne Cox, glamourous inmate Sophia on “Orange Is The New Black,” will be the first transgender celeb to score her own statue in the wax museum.

According to reports, Cox will be on hand to unveil her doppelgänger at a June 26 press event in San Francisco, which will coincide with the city’s 45th Annual pride parade and celebratory weekend.

Increased visibility is an important part of the fight for trans rights, and Cox has been at the forefront, not only slaying it on “OITNB,” but also covering Time magazine and stripping down for Allure’s annual Nudes issue, so it’s a given that her wax figure will be an inspiration—and maybe get us to make a trip to the ultra-touristy museum.
