In 6th grade, we watched the movie, “The Outsiders” after reading the book– because that’s how you learn about literature: by watching movies. The new Killers music video for their song, “A Dustland Fairytale” is a combination of The Outsiders’ rumble scene punctuated with sweeping Brokeback Mountain landscape shots filmed through the old camera used in Clint Eastwood movies.
The story is… I want to say nice but then again the main character is a Greaser who stabs someone… but there’s a love story… Gah, emotional dissonance! I’ll let you judge for yourself:
