Word has it that Katie Holmes is hankering to expand her job description as actress/mother/half-of-TomKat and add “fashion designer” onto her repertoire. According to WWD, the multi-talented Holmes broached to topic of a potential collaboration to Richard Prince, the artist most famous in fashion circles for being the inspiration for Louis Vuittons Spring/Summer 2008 collection.
“I was approached [for a project with] Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes but I’m not going there; there’s no connection for me,” the artist told WWD at the opening of his new exhibition, at Paris’ Galerie Patrick Seguin.
Personally, methinks that Holmes might actually (gasp!) have some substance to add to the fashion industry. She has, after all, co-designed a few successful red-carpet looks with her stylist, Jeannie Yang. I would wear the white jumpsuit with black lace detail (pictured above) in a heartbeat, which is a lot more than I can say for some celebrity lines (cough, Heidiwood). So while the Prince connection might not have worked out, I’m eager to see what the young actress has in store.
