American Idol Kris Allen has signed a contract with producer 19 Recordings and his record will be distributed by Jive Records this fall. The Season 8 winner will fit recording in while on tour with the other Idols this summer.
“As exciting as the last few months have been, I’m really looking forward to what is next,” Allen said in a statement. “Everyone’s been asking me what it’s going to sound like. It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show — definitely in the pop/rock genre. I can’t wait to get started!”
Idol runner-up Adam Lambert said that he’s signed with RCA. Lambert has been receiving just as much if not more attention than winner Allen. This week the glam-man finally confirmed his sexuality in the new issue of Rolling Stone. Surprise, surprise–he’s gay!
Rumors are also circulating that Idol’s fourth-place rocker, Allison Iraheta, has signed to Jive Records.
