Twitter Round-Up: Celebrities Take on Hurricane Sandy

Posted by , on October 30, 2012 at 12:30 pm

As Hurricane Sandy roared onto the East Coast, celebrities took to Twitter with their reactions, original photos, and—of course—a bit of humor.

"One Tree Hill" star Sophia Bush chimes in with the most true thing of the night.

Rob Lowe, always a standup guy, wishes we could come along with him.

It takes a classy Italian lady to know what's important to do in the wake of a massive storm.

Khloé Kardashian prayed for her beloved hubby Lamar Odom's hometown.

Governor Chris Christie has had some of the best one liners throughout this ordeal.

Piers Morgan calls out those daredevils still running around in the streets as the storm arrived.

We thought we had to include someone from the cast of "Jersey Shore," considering the house that made them megastars was put in jeopardy. We hope everyone in Seaside is safe!

Maria Menounos gave us a front row seat to some Sandy damage.

Naomi Campbell informed the world that a storm was occurring as a result of global warming, and also that she had downloaded a lot of "Real Housewives of Miami."

This "Devil Wears Prada" photo was beyond necessary. It's just, I don't know, drizzling

It was interesting to see the fate of the late night shows as a result of Sandy. The show, for some, had to go on.

A little tasteless, but still kind of hilarious...

Whoopi Goldberg live tweeted the destruction.

We're pretty sure Kanye West is in New York, so we can imagine how distressing this was.

Lindsay Lohan's tweet heard 'round the world. Seriously, girl? Sally?

No one takes grandmothers everywhere trying to watch their soap operas into account.

Pamela Anderson makes a solid point here (not that we're surprised or anything).

Everyone in New York realized this last night.

Chrissy Teigen naturally had a slew of informative — but mostly hilarious — tweets related to Sandy.

We wish this really were Suri Cruise. Let's face it, this was definitely what she was thinking.

Despite initial reports about Hurricane Sandy warning us of the storm’s effects, we New Yorkers had no idea what we were in for. Flooding, transportation damage and major power outages now plague the eastern seaboard, and many of us aren’t sure when we’ll be completely up and running again.

As Sandy worsened, the social media world proved to be the most up-to-date news source, and we were all glued to our Twitter feeds as the storm hit. Celebrities, news personalities and other public figures tweeted facts, pictures and humorous anecdotes that got us all through it.
