Step-by-step instructions:

1. The best way to apply foundation is to take a sponge, dip it in foundation and apply the product to your t-zone. This section of yourface usually needs the most amount of foundation.

2. Then you can go about blending the product outwards over yourcheeks, nose, chin and forehead and blend out towards your hairline.Make sure you blend out past your chin so you do not get a strong lineof color there.

3. The chin and nose are usually a little more red then the rest of yourskin. You can also take a little more product on your sponge and pat itinto the skin around the nose and on the chin to get more coverage.

4. Foundation should always look polished, never heavy or cakey. COVERGIRLs NatureLuxe Foundation gives you flawless coverage that feels weightless.

5. For a mid-day touch up, spread a small amount of foundation over yoursponge and lightly press it into your skin – only on the areas you feelneed it.

6. I also love to finish up by pressing a bit of whatever product is left over on the sponge onto the cheekbone to give you a beautiful glow.

I have a few questions, don’t know what kind or tone of foundation and compact powder to get ,I have very oily/combination skin. I’ve tried different brands, nothing works, and when I put on the powder my face is not only oily but has flakes too at the same time, all over my face,it looks bad. I’m 33 years old. can you help??

I have trouble applying make up under the eye so that I can hide my wrinkles. I’ve tried different brushes, make ups, etc and I usually end up making my wrinkles more noticable. I’m 30. Can you help?

I can’t seem to find any makeup in the stores that matches my skin tone. I am a medium-toned Black female with a lot of red in my skin. On top of that, I have rosacea on both cheeks so my pores there are large and the skin is very sensitive. Foundations in the stores are usually much lighter than they appear through the packaging and end up either too light or too dark on my skin. Mineral makeup ends up chalky on my face. MaryKay costs too much and Avon doesn’t have samples in my color. Please help! I’m just trying to look cute!

My best advice if you are having a hard time finding the right foundation for you, is to go to a make up counter and let the professionals help you out. Stephanie Brun: I am going to share with you some insider make up artist information that will change everything…We do not put make up on to cover up our wrinkles!!!! The more make up you put over your wrinkles the more they will show. To minimize your wrinkles you want to maximize the things you like about your face. Only use a tad of concealer under your eyes if you have dark circles, otherwise try to use lots of mascara on your top lashes, a pretty cream blush and a great lip color. Enhancing the parts of your face you love will make you feel beautiful and that confidence will help you not notice your wrinkles.

Linette Rodriguez: Hi Linette, put the powder down! You seem to have already figured that part out. When people feel they are oily they automatically think they need to powder themselves up, this is not the case. Because your skin is oily/combination I would use a tinted moisturizer as a foundation and then use concealer to get the blemishes. The Cover Girl Naturelux foundation is a medium consistency and it has a nice finish. Another option would be Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer. For a concealer I think benefit has nice concealers that can really cover up a bad blemish. Get a translucent powder and dust it lightly over your t-zone and your chin. Now here’s the kicker, when you feel yourself starting to shine up again use blotting papers! The papers will zap the oil with out making your face powdery and flaky like a powder compact would. You can find blotting papers at the drugstore or a health food market such as whole foods. They also have some more expensive ones like Shiseido and Mac. I hope I was helpful! If you have anymore questions please tweet at me…@AuraSchwartz

Hello I just turned 50 and when I use foundation it seems to disappear into my skin, like my skin is drinking it up so I look like I need to reapply it. My skin tends to be on the normal to dry type. What should I do?
