13 Ways to Wear Bows As a Grown-Ass Woman
Bows have long been a marker of girlhood—a tell-tale declaration of youthful femininity when tied to a pair of pigtails or around the waist of a party dress.
But a run-through of this season’s runways showed that bows aren’t just for little girls anymore. At Balenciaga, Alexander Wang tied his lingerie-inspired pieces with silky bows for a look that was sultry, not simpering, and on the Proenza Schouler runway, strong, structural silhouettes were cinched with large bows that were a minimalistic paradox of an accent.
Outside of the runways, the street-style scene proved that this chic trend is not only here to stay, but wearable as well. From skinny bows tied around Peter Pan collars to flirtatious ankle-tied bow pumps, here are 13 ways to wear a bow as an adult woman.
