The dog days of summer certainly do not make for the most conducive work conditions.
Plaugued by exhaustion and constantly distracted by what you’re going to do this weekend, how can one stay focused? With all the artificial and chemical ways to keep you on track you could be easily sucked down a rabbit hole of quick fixes. Check out my guide to an au natural lifestyle approach.
Stay on schedule. Make a list of goals for each day and stick to them. Crossing off each one will give you a sense of accomplishment and motivation.
Make time for fitness. Exercise creates endorphins and promotes clear mindedness. Even a quick cardio session will prepare mind and body to tackle the day.
Hump day yoga session. By mid-week you are dying of distraction. Quiet the over-active mind and dedicate your practice to one goal @ work.
Eat right. Eat foods that promote focus such as nuts, blueberries, salmon, ginkgo biloba, and avocado.
Don’t get drunk. Skip the Thursday night bender in favor of a focused Friday, which could lead to an early dismissal.
Nap! Take a cue from the Spanish and sneak in a 15-minute siesta. It will reenergize you and get your mind back on track.
