All that glitters: Carey goes metallic at this year's Met Ball Gala.

Work those ruffles, girl!

Looking classic in this black ensemble. Perfection? We think so.

Another great A-line dress from Miss Mulligan.

We're dying for this dress but we're also dying for her hair in this photo!

Lady in red.

We have three things to say about this outfit: yes, yes and yes.

Something blue: Her colored pumps definitely add some je ne sais quoi to this classic white and black look.

Love the dress, but we're iffy on the shoewear.

Going for the (mustard) gold.

Wow (that's really all we can say about this outfit).

The beautiful detailing at the top makes this head-to-toe black ensemble a bit more interesting to look at.

Death by chocolate: Carey kills it in this dark brown number.

Looking at this dress makes us crave a madeleine cookie–and that's ok.

Great Gatsby! Looks like it’s actress Carey Mulligan‘s birthday today!

The British-born starlet is turning the big 2-7 this year which we think will be a good one for her–with the much-anticipated release of The Great Gatsby that’s due out at the end of the year, we’ve got a hankering that were going to be seeing Carey out-and-about for the next few months to come.

Luckily, she has some solid style to boot, always opting for a more conservative yet still a little bit quirky look to her ensembles, with tons of A-line dresses made out of textured materials (think ruffles–lots of them).
