Hair411: Who Does Your Hair?

Okay, here it is the million-dollar question. How do you find a hairstylist/colorist that is perfect for you? This journey may take some effort but will be well worth it in the long run. Whether you have just moved on from your longtime stylist or are looking for a change, take note.

At times I definitely take for granted that I can just sit in my colleague’s chair and have my hair done. I recently asked myself if I wasn’t in the industry and did not have that luxury how would I go about finding my perfect stylist.

It is very important to do your research. If you’re like me, your hair is extremely important. You may change your shoes and handbag every day, but not your hair. The best plan is to have a clear vision of what you want. The key word is CLEAR. If you have blonde hair, what type of highlights are you looking for? Find pictures of a celebrity or model with the hair you want and make sure to pay attention to every detail.

So now that you have a clear vision of what you want, go out and find it. The best advice is, that when you see a beautiful haircut/color ASK ASK ASK….”Excuse me, who does your hair.” More often than not, they will be more than happy to inform you. Remember, the proof is in the pudding, and you might stumble upon your new favorite stylist.

Stay tuned……”Should I bring pictures to my hairstylist/colorist?”
