Congrats to the lovely and luminous Kate Winslet for sweeping the Golden Globe nominations, just announced this morning. The talented actress is up for Best Actress for her role in Revolutionary Road and for Best Supporting Actress for her work in The Reader. In addition, Revolutionary Road is also up for Best Picture. And here begins the red-carpet frenzy. Who will win? Why didn’t The Dark Knight get nominated for more? Who will the stars bring as their dates? Which stylists will they use? And herein lies the most important question: WHAT WILL THEY WEAR??!
It’s always interesting to see what people roll up to the awards in, and since it seems to be Miss Winslet’s night, I’m especially anticipating her sartorial choices. I’m loving what she did last Wednesday night, showing off her curves in an Herve Leger bandage dress and Roger Vivier shoes at the Revolutionary Road premiere in New York (picture above), but for something as big as the Globes, methinks she should channel some Catherine Deneuve a la Vanity Fair with perfect waves, strong eyebrows, matte makeup, and a seriously glamorous, old-Hollywood dress.
What do you think?
