As we gear up for the 2013 Golden Globes this Sunday, it’s a given that we’re spending ample time hypothesizing about what the A-list nominees will choose to wear.
That said, we decided to pick 10 of our favorite actresses—all up for a Globe—and look back at some of their most iconic red carpet moments. From there, we chose a designer who we know they’ve worn on numerous occasions, and picked a look from said designer’s Spring 2013 collections that we think would work at the Golden Globes.
Of course, we’re only taking (highly!) educated guesses here, but we’re confident in saying that all of these lovely ladies would hit style high notes in our inspired picks.

Sofia Vergara: Albeit one of the sexiest red carpet presences today, "Modern Family" nominee Sofia Vergara is certainly predictable. It seems she can't really hit a red carpet without choosing a mermaid gown, and the Golden Globes will likely be no exception. Similar to the Zuhair Murad that she wore to the 2012 Emmys (which famously split), we think this Zuhair Murad Spring 2013 pick is perfect. It's certainly a more subtle color than the emerald green, and it will still show off her enviable figure, but in a slightly more dignified fashion.
Julie Bowen: The "Modern Family" actress made waves at the 2012 Emmy Awards in a neon gown from Monique Lhuillier that Nicki Minaj later wore, so clearly she's not afraid of color. However, we think for the Golden Globes, Bowen will opt for a dress from designer Jenny Packham's Spring 2013 collection. She's already worn the designer at the Golden Globes Kick Off party last weekend, and the above dress (right) combines her love of playful color and sexy silhouettes.
Jennifer Lawrence: As the face of Miss Dior handbags, Lawrence has spent her "Silver Linings Playbook" press tour in items from Dior's Spring 2013 collection (including lots of suits). For the Globes, we think she'll go for a bold, structured dress like the above. Clearly, she isn't afraid of color, as evidenced by the curve-hugging red Calvin Klein she wore to the 2011 Oscars.
Anne Hathaway: Nominated for her role in "Les Misérables," Hathaway has been making headlines for her fashion-forward choices, including a bondage-inspired Tom Ford look and a white Givenchy number. However, for awards season, we guess she'll go back to her basics: Valentino. Hathaway and Valentino have a close relationship, with the designer responsible for her custom wedding gown. She stunned in one of his creations at the Met Gala, and with some customization (and perhaps additional length), this look from Spring 2013 would be well-suited for the nominee.
Marion Cotillard: The Dior spokeswoman always looks pitch-perfect in the iconic brand, and when we saw this look from the Spring 2013 collection, we felt it was practically designed for her. The "Rust and Bone" nominee would make countless best-dressed lists if she chooses this option.
Hayden Panettiere: A nominee for her role in "Nashville," Panettiere favors Marchesa's sexy, youthful, luxurious designs on red carpets. She stunned in the label at September's Emmy Awards, and we're all for the actress choosing this Spring 2013 look that's got just the right amount of glitz.
Zooey Deschanel: Deschanel seems to have a major red carpet moment whenever she steps out (hello, tuxedo nails!), but we most prefer "The New Girl" nominee in Reem Acra. She's able to be playful yet still formal in Acra's lavish gowns, and this Spring 2013 tie-dye inspired number would be a showstopper.
Allison Williams: One of HBO's "Girls," Williams has become quite a style-setter in her own right, turning up in glamorous looks from Oscar de la Renta and L'Wren Scott. After turning up in a gorgeous de la Renta green peplum number at the Emmy Awards, this Spring 2013 look from the designer would be a suitably elegant follow-up.
Jessica Chastain: The "Zero Dark Thirty" nominee killed it at the Oscars last year in Alexander McQueen, and we think she'll again save that designer for that ceremony. For the Globes, Chastain will probably stick to an old faithful, like designer Elie Saab. While she's worn an electric blue look from Saab's Spring 2013 collection already, the above dress (right) is a far better silhouette, and more appropriate for an awards show where she's likely to walk away with a statuette.
Naomi Watts: Although Watts is all over the place when it comes to designers, she always looks smashing in Tom Ford. The above Spring 2013 look from his collection may seem slightly edgy due to the footwear, but with the right heels and accessories, we think "The Impossible" nominee would be one of the most radiant women on the red carpet.
