NYFW F/W 2012: Rebecca Minkoff Rocks Out

Today Rebecca Minkoff reminded us that above all, fashion should most importantly be FUN. Opening her show with a dramatic spotlight on musician and hipster fave Theophilus London crooning his hit “I Stand Alone,” this runway felt more akin to a house party than an icy fashion show.

Taking us on a shiny, fuzzy and sparkly wild ride, Minkoff’s collection truly embodied the spirit of this lively room. As a long-time devoted ‘Minkette’ — I can still remember my first Morning After Bag — I was thrilled to see this rapidly ascending designer go light-years beyond the accessories she’s come to be known for.

The audience couldn’t get enough, and we all soaked up every last drop of sequined-pant, python shorts, and shearling tee goodness. I never thought a fashion show could be such a party – nor did I think I’d ever want a yeti dress. Gotta love NYFW.
